GBACC BOARD MINUTES APRIL 20, 2010

Attending: Ellis Burruss, David Swope, Jerry Knight,  Cheryl Wathen and Rosemary Huf

Absent:  Phil Graves and Ben Mourad

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm.

1 - Minutes were approved as written.

2 - Dave Swope gave the Treasurers report.  For information on the report contact Dave.

3 - Rosemary Huf, Chair of the Membership Committee reported she will be giving three member packets out at the next Business Card Exchange.  She has made name tags for all GBACC members and they will be available at each GBACC event.  Ellis will supply the Membership Committee with an estimate for Cover Labels.  The members present discuss ideas for getting the GBACC message out.

4 - The 50%/$50 giveaway program was discussed and it was decided to go back to the original method of giving away a certificate at GBACC Events and cancel the web page program.  A drawing will be held at the Thursday Speed Networking Business Card Exchange for the people who have signed up for the giveaway on the web site.  A business card drawing for a 50%/$50 will also be held.

The GBACC brochure and map was discuss and it was decided to talk with the Lovettsville Business Association (LBA) to see if they would like to be on one side of the brochure with GBACC on the other.  It would give GBACC a larger business base to advertise on the brochure and would help get the GBACC and LBA message out.

Ellis is working on getting magnets for the GBACC pads so he can print more for the use of the GBACC Membership.

The Frederick News Post Insert will go out on May 4th.

5 - Speed networking is Thursday, April 22nd and so far only ten members have signed up but the LBA and Middletown Chamber (MACC) has not supplied numbers.

No final decisions have been made about the Trade Show but it will continue to be advertised to get members interested.

On May 19th the Business Card Exchange will be at Upward Enterprises.  This event will be outside and our braves’ members can use the Zip Line.  This should prove to be a fun event.  LBA and MACC will be invited to attend.

The meeting adjourned at 7:10 PM
