GBACC President, Ellis Burruss, called the meeting to order at 7:45 AM. Eight persons were in attendance.
GBACC Treasurer David Swope gave the Treasurer’s Report. For more information on the Treasurers Report please contact David Swope.
Membership: Rosemary Huf, Chair of the Membership Committee reported the May Membership Dues reminders have been sent out and informed the membership that dues reminder post cards will be sent out to members who have not paid their dues. Rosemary presented Abbie Ricketts of Brunswick Hardware with a new membership packet.
The members present discussed the declining involvement of GBACC members in the monthly business meeting. Suggestions were made that we hold the meeting either quarterly or every other month. The Board will discuss the problem and make recommendations at the June Business Meeting.
Promotions: The GBACC insert was in the Tuesday, May 4th Frederick News Post.
The GBACC Map is on hold until more details can be worked out.
It has been suggested the GBACC Place Mat be made smaller so it will better fit on restaurant tables. Rosemary Huf suggested we find other uses for the place mat, such as giving it to organizations for special events.
Ellis is working on finding magnets for the GBACC note pads.
Events/Activities:
Trade Show – GBACC is awaiting the announcement from the Frederick Chamber of Commerce for the date we can sign up for the Trade Show before we make final arrangements for our participations
May Business Card Exchange –The May Business Card Exchange will be at Upward Enterprises It will be on Thursday, May 19th, 5:00 to 7:00 PM. More information and directions will be in the Friday bulletins.
Announcement:
Ellis announced the Brunswick Farmers Market is every Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Brunswick Citizen Parking lot.
Rosemary announced the May 15th ribbon cutting for Brunswick Crossing.
Abbie Ricketts told the group the May First Friday was very successful and the next one will be “Go for the Gold”.
Mary Elizabeth Bowie advised the EDC Community Picnic will be on Saturday, June 12th.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 AM.
Emily Shaw of All-Shred spoke to the group about identity thief and the how important it is to make sure your official documents are disposed of correctly.
